Seeking ways to escape the pressure of a busy life? Come and join Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s “CLP Light Classics Concert” this September! This popular annual concert features light-hearted, favorite works in the classical music repertoire this year on the theme of ‘dance’! Conducted and presented by Music Director Yip Wing-sie, the concert provides a relaxed setting in which to enjoy a musical Sunday afternoon with your family.

Light-hearted dance music for the entire family
Music Director Yip Wing-sie and the orchestra have selected an array of uplifting pieces including Johann Strauss Jr’s Voices of Spring, Tchaikovsky’s Serenade in C: Waltz, and music by Weber, Falla, Saint-Saëns, and more. The concert also highlights Hong Kong pianist Helen Cha performing Chopin’s Andante Spianato & Grande Polonaise Brillante.

Helen Cha Piano
Helen Cha is one of the most exciting local pianists of the younger generation. As an active performer, she has appeared in solo recitals in North America, Europe and China, and collaborated with numerous orchestras including the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. A top-prize winner at many competitions including the 12th Hong Kong (Asia) Piano Open Competition and concerto competitions at Piano Texas and the Eastman School of Music, Helen Cha has recently obtained her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the renowned Eastman School of Music in the USA.
