Due to unprecedented demand, Hong Kong Sinfonietta is pleased to announce two extra performances of its first ever concert tailor-made for babies. Two additional performances will be held on 29-30 January 7:30pm, Hong Kong City Hall Theatre and the box office will open on 11 December. Mark your diary now to avoid disappointment!
Expose your baby to good music today!
Bring your baby to a live orchestral concert tailor-made for babies aged 0-2! Whether you are a believer of the Mozart effect or the scientific research that says hearing classical music at the earliest ages helps create new pathways in the brain, you will simply find that babies do enjoy good music!
The concert will be conducted and presented by Jason Lai, Artist Associate of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. From soothing tunes and light-hearted waltzes to exciting rhythms, excerpts from a wide range of classics will be performed: Air on the G String, Swan Lake, Carmen Suite, Water Music, Peer Gynt Suite, Badinerie and more. Don’t mind if the little ones “sing” or dance along with the music!

Jason LAI Artist Associate/ Conductor/ Presenter
Jason Lai is Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s Artist Associate for the 2009/2010 season and has recently been appointed Music Director of the Leicester Symphony Orchestra in the UK. A cellist, pianist and composer by training, Jason Lai was Assistant Conductor to the BBC Philharmonic from 2002-2005 as the winner of the BBC Young Conductors Workshop. He has conducted such orchestras as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic, and made his BBC Proms début with the BBC Philharmonic in 2003. Apart from conducting in Europe and Asia, he is also a broadcaster for the BBC and a keen educator. For more information, please visit www.jasonlai.co.uk.
