Disney’s animated movies have charmed audiences worldwide for decades. But for all of us who have an ear for rhythm and melody, these movies would be less magical if we take away the captivating music. Join the Hong Kong Sinfonietta in this wonderful musical journey featuring orchestral selections from Disney classics. With his magic wand and the help of some pixie dust (and the orchestra of course), conductor Jason Lai will set music notes flying around the concert hall.

The programme includes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, The Little Mermaid Orchestral Suite, Beauty and the Beast Suite, Aladdin Orchestral Suite, The Lion King Song Suite and more.

The concert will be held on:
15-16 January 2010 (Fri-Sat) 7:30pm and 17 January 2010 (Sun) 3pm
at HK City Hall Concert Hall.

Jason LAI     Artist Associate/ Conductor

Jason Lai is Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s Artist Associate for the 2009/2010 season and has recently been appointed Music Director of the Leicester Symphony Orchestra in the UK. A cellist, pianist and composer by training, Jason Lai was Assistant Conductor to the BBC Philharmonic from 2002-2005 as the winner of the BBC Young Conductors Workshop. He has conducted such orchestras as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic, and made his BBC Proms début with the BBC Philharmonic in 2003. Apart from conducting in Europe and Asia, he is also a broadcaster for the BBC and a keen educator. For more information, please visit www.jasonlai.co.uk.
